Benjamin Mark Sank!

We were surprised to find out that the boat that we were scheduled to move on to on June 26th - Benjamin Mark - has sunk! Which is a bit disconcerting! And the owner Alex isn't quite sure why. Supposedly it was moored up and there was a ledge under the water sticking out from the bank which the boat seems to have got stuck on and then as the water level changed the boat twisted and water leaked in through some air vents! So the poor current tenants (who thankfully weren't aboard at the time) came back to find that their boat had disappeared!

Its worked out well for us though because Alex has very kindly offered us another boat instead. Because although Benjamin Mark is afloat again, it needs cleaning and completely re-wiring, which wasn't going to happen in time. So we are going to be on 'Buffalo' instead! Benjamin Mark is dead, long live Buffalo! Which is a slightly bigger boat at 52 feet and should cost us more money, so that is very good of Alex.

We are a bit worried now though, hadn't really considered that the boat could sink! ;-) Imagine if it sunk at night when we were in bed! I'm sure its a very rare occurence though, so I'm sure we'll be fine!
